I've been busy with taxes and a special commission for the past few weeks. I'll post a pic as soon as the gift is received and I'm not spoiling any surprises.
Today was one of those days when I was just walking out of my studio and then thought...No, I'll just sit down and do something real quick that I've been thinking of for a long time (about 6 months). It all just clicked and I am well on my way to some new discoveries of adding tiny bits of colour to my work. I've tried resin and Peobo 150 paint in the past but was not happy. The workability and thicknesses were slightly off for how I work, etc. I've now figured out the right enamel paint to use and am so excited to actually put it to use. If you'll remember, I had the idea for hockey skates for about 6 months, then one night at 4 in the morning I just got up and did it in no time, and was immediately happy. That's how I work. Think, think, think....procrastinate, procrastinate, procrastinate, then VOILA! In 5 mins I do it.
Here's a little glimpse of a piece I'm working on entitled "Hug". Can't wait to see the end result...if what I'm trying to do will work....then I will share the very precious story behind it.
In this burst of creativity I also started working on creating the poppies for a new line of window box vignettes. I am beyond excited. Stay tuned for the final piece in the next week or so.
